The Nanny comes to DVD in July

Blue collar meets blue blood in The Nanny, the Emmy Award-winning sitcom starring Fran Drescher as the flashy girl from Flushing Queens whose no-nonsense honesty and sharp sense of humor results in a major transformation when she becomes employed in the prim and proper Sheffield household.

Considered by many to be a ‘90s version of “I Love Lucy, ” “The Nanny” premiered in November 1993 as a late addition to CBS’s fall lineup. The show quickly became a hit and lasted for six successful seasons. In addition to the entertaining cast, there were guest appearances by numerous celebrities, including James Marsden, Carol Channing, Dan Aykroyd, Cloris Leachman, Twiggy and more.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release the complete first season of the show as a 3-disc DVD set, featuring all 22 episodes, including the original pilot. The DVD set will also include a Commentary Track by Fran Drescher on selected episodes, as well as a Featurette called “The Making Of The Nanny.”

Available July 12 for the first time on DVD “The Nanny: The Complete First Season” will be priced at $29.95.
