No Shame Films takes you to The Big Alligator River

In the tradition of the classic “animal revenge” movies No Shame Films is preparing a DVD release of Sergio Martino’s “The Big Alligator River, ” a blood-soaked tale of greed, Third World exploitation and karmic comeuppance starring Barbara Bach, Mel Ferrer and Claudio Cassinelli.

Vampire bats and cobras aren’t the only sentient creatures disturbed by blasting in the steamy jungles of Southeast Asia. When construction for an exclusive Club Med-style resort encroaches onto territory that the Kuma natives hold sacred, their alligator god Kroona takes it personally.

Directed by Sergio Martino and written by Ernesto Gastaldi, the movie assembles a cast and crew of respected horror icons from Europe and the US, featuring Mel Ferrer and Richard Johnson, as well as Italian players Bobby Rhodes, Romano Puppo and child actress Sylvia Collatina. Who lives… who dies… only Kroona knows!

The film will be presented in its original aspect ratio on the DVD, remastered for 16×9 TV sets from the original negative, completely uncut and uncensored for the first time in the US.
As extras the release will also contain a 20-minute Interview with director Sergio Martino and production designer Antonello Geleng. Also included is a Poster Gallery and the movie’s Original Italian Theatrical Trailer. The release is rounded out by a collectible booklet with liner notes and biographies.

“The Big Alligator River” will be in stores on September 27 with a low $19.95 price tag.
