Buena Vista Home Entertainment has just unveiled plans to release The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy on September 13 already, a mere 9 weeks after the movie’s theatrical start.

Mere seconds before the Earth is to be demolished by an alien construction crew, journeyman Arthur Dent is swept off the planet by his friend Ford Prefect, a researcher penning a new edition of “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.”

The DVD will feature a widescreen presentation of the movie with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio tracks and a number of extras, such as a Commentray Track, a selection of Deleted Scenes and a number of behind-the scenes Featurettes. A Babelfish Word Game and a Sing Along will also be included in this DVD release when it hits retail stores on September 13 at a suggested retail price of $29.99
