Blues Brothers turns 25

An odd confession, one of the reasons this writer bought a DVD player eight years ago was to eventually pick up the 1980 musical review The Blues Brothers. Although Universal Home Entertainment eventually put out a quality DVD with extra supplements and a good quality transfer, it was sadly only available in an extended cut. Now, Universal is finally releasing a comprehensive version of the DVD with the extended cut and the original theatrical version.

The new disc be available in both fullscreen and anamorphic widescreen versions and will contain the excellent documentary contained on the original DVD as well as an introduction by Dan Aykroyd, and concert footage.

The new DVDs will arrive on August 30th with a suggested retail price of $22.98.
