Titanic finally gets a Special Edition

If you’ll excuse the pun, Paramount Home Entertainment missed the boat by releasing its largest hit ever on VHS only and then trickling out a DVD over a year after the buzz had died down. But after 8 years, (that’s right eight years), two new Titanic special editions will arrive.

Details are still a little unfinalized, but a two disc and a four disc version will be available, both in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 6.1 sound.
The two disc version will contain branching to allow viewing of the film in its original theatrical presentation or as a longer directors cut. The 4 disc version will contain many deleted scenes, and behind the scenes documentaries.

Both versions arrive in October with a suggested retail price to be set.
