Sony wants to know Are We There Yet?

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the upcoming DVD release of the Ice Cube comedy Are We There Yet?, but more interestingly has announced that the film will also arrive on UMD (more on that later).

Ice Cube plays Nick, a playboy bachelor and sports memorabilia collector who dates a divorced mother of two young kids who never like the men their mom dates. When she gets stuck working on New Year’s Eve, he volunteers to drive her kids 300 miles across country to see her, thinking this is the perfect chance to win her heart.

The DVD will present the film in Dolby Digital 5.1 and will contain a deleted scene, bloopers, interactive games, a tour of Nick’s Fins Sports Collectibles, an audio commentary, a featurette and storyboard comparisons.

Interestingly, Sony is plunging into the UMD world with this release. The UMD version of the film will be available separately and will be playable on the new Sony Playstation Portable. It will be interesting to see whether other studios follow suit.

Both versions arrive May 24th, and both are priced at $28.95.
