Son Of The Mask and The Mask are coming in May

New Line Home Entertainment’s sequel to the Jim Carry super comedy “The Mask” is making its DVD debut on May 17. Son Of The Mask is the story of aspiring cartoonist Tim Avery (Jamie Kennedy) finally getting over his fear of parenthood with the birth of his new son Alvey, when he quickly finds himself in over his head as his new baby is born with The Mask’s spectacular powers. Further complicating matters is the family’s jealous dog, who turns the household upside down and sparks a comical kid-versus-canine battle for control of the Mask. But unbeknownst to them all, the mischievous Norse god Loki (Alan Cumming) has come looking for his mask and is willing to do whatever it takes to get it back

New Line will release “Son Of The Mask” as a Platinum Edition release in anamorphic widescreen and a slew of extra materials, sich as a commentary track by director Lawrence Guterman and write Lance Khazei. Also included are deleted scenes, a selection of featurettes, story board and concept art galleries and the movie’s trailer.

In addition to this release, New Line will also bow a new Platinum Edition of the original The Mask filled with new extras and supplements, such as a new 61. channel audio track in DTS and Dolby Digital EX, a selection of featurettes, commentary tracks, deleted scenes and much more.

May 17… mark it in your calendar. “Son Of The Mask” will be available for $27.95 and “The Mask” will have a low $19.97 suggested retail price.
