Paramount relays Unfortunate Events

Paramount Home Entertainment is getting ready for Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events with three DVD releases in April.

After Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire’s parents perish in a terrible fire, they are placed in the care of their uncle, Count Olaf, an evil fiend who is plotting to kill them and seize their fortune. The orphans travel from guardian to guardian, including herpetologist Montgomery Montgomery and grammar-wise Aunt Josephine Anwhistle, but the worst guardian of all is Count Olaf. Plotting to steal the children’s fortune, Olaf disguises himself as his assistant Stephano and ship captain Julio Sham and keeps popping up in the strangest places. Just when the Baudelaires think things are getting better, something unfortunate happens!

Both a fullscreen and anamorphic widescreen single-disc version of the disc will be available with audio in Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. The disc also contains two audio commentaries, the featurettes Building a Bad Actor, Making the Baudelaire Children Miserable and Interactive Olaf, deleted scenes and outtakes. A two disc version will also be available with the featurettes A Woeful World, Costumes and Other Suspicious Disguises, Violet’s Functional Designs, CAUTION! Incredibly Deadly Vipers, The Sad Score, The Unsound Sound Designer, You Probably Shouldn’t Listen to These, An Alarming Conspiracy Involving Sunny, An Even More Alarming Conspiracy Involving Sunny, The Terrible Fire and Trains, Leeches and Hurricanes and photo galleries.

All the discs will arrive on April 26th.
