The Simpsons: The Complete Fifth Season

On 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment’s release of the fifth season of “The Simpsons” the studio has once again added a number of hidden features for you to discover.

Insert the first disc of the DVD set and on the Main Menu highlight the entry “A Word From Matt Groening” and then press the “Up” arrow key once. This will highlight the gramophone on the screen and some music will begin to play. Now press the “Right” arrow key on your remote control and the alarm in the room will go off.

Now insert the second disc and on the Main Menu highlight the menu entry “Marge On The Lam.” Press the “Up” key now and you will highlight the TV set. Now press the “Enter” key and you will get to see a mini opening from the Ichty & Scratchy show. Now press the “Right” key and you will be able to highlight Bart’s casino sign for some additional animation.

Time to insert the third disc of the DVD set. On the Main Menu highlight the menu entry “Bart Gets Famous” and then press the “Up” arrow key on your remote control, which will highlight the Malibu Stacy doll and give you access to one of her catch phrases.

One the fourth disc of the set highlight the entry “Burns’ Heir” and then press the “Up” key to highlight the rock on Miss Krabapple’s desk. Press “Enter” to activate it. Then, press the “Right” arrow key on your remote control to highlight Marge’s plant and press “enter” to see an animation of it grow.

There’s also a hidden commentary track on disc four of the DVD set. To access it go to the “Special Features ”section, the select “Art and Animation” and in the follwing screen highlight the Animatic Play button. Now press the “Left” arrow key and you’ll highlight the 100th Episode. Now, press the “Enter” key and you’ll be treated to a fine commentary for that episode, featuring Matt Groening, Lance Wilder, Lance Kramer, Paul Wee, Mike Anderson, Bob Anderson, Wes Archer, and David Silverman.
