Chariots of Fire gets fixed

Chariots of Fire was one of those films cursed by an early DVD release when no one knew DVDs. Now Warner Home Entertainment is releasing a new two-disc special edition of the film.

Two British track athletes are competing for fame in the 1924 Paris Olympics. One is a devout Scottish missionary who runs to honor God while the other is a Jewish student at Cambridge University who runs to escape prejudice and prove his place among Britain’s elite.

First and formost the film is finally available in widescreen. Features include audio commentary, the featurettes Wings on Their Heels: The Making of Chariots of Fire and Chariots of Fire – A Reunion along with seven deleted scenes, screen tests, a theatrical trailer and easter eggs.

The set will arrive along with reissues of several Warner Oscar winners on February 1st with a suggested retail price of $26.99.
