Miami Vice keeps the music playing

Many feared that when the eighties essential cop show Miami Vice made its appearance on DVD it would be missing the soundtrack that defined the show. Music rights for television and DVD are very different legal matters. But Universal Home Entertainment has announced the series will arrive intact in early 2005.

The set includes all 21 episodes and the two hour pilot from the 1984-85 season in their original fullscreen and remixed in Dolby Digital 5.1 with a soundtrack that features Phil Collins, U2, Elvis Presley, Peter Gabriel, Eric clapton, Tina turner, The Police and more. An introduction by Michael Mann as well as the featutettes The Vibe of Vice, Backstory: Miami Vice, The Fashion and The Music are included in the set.

The set arrives February 8th with a suggested retail price of $59.98.
