On Warner Home Video’s release of “The Iron Giant: Special Edition” the studio has included a number of cool bonus materials – out of sight from immediate access.

On the DVD’s Main Menu select the menu entry “Scene Selection.” On the following screen, highlight the “Scene Selection” logo using the directional keys on your remote control and then press “Enter.” This will take you to a short animation of a goofy looking robot.

Now, from the Main Menu, go to the “Special Features” section where you use the “Up” arrow key on your remote control to highlight the rolled-up screen at the top. Press the “Enter” key and you will get to see a special letter from writer Ted Hughes, who write the book on which the film is based, to producer Allison Abbate.

Back on the “Special Features” menu, go to the “Additional Special Features” page. Now press the “Right” arrow key on your remote control to highlight a pair of glasses. Press “enter” and you will get to see an “explosive” uncolored short with government agent Kent Mansley.

Back on the “Additional Special Features” select the menu entry “Behind The Armor” and on the following screen press the “right” arrow key on your remote control to highlight the yellow bow in the girl’s hair. Press the “Enter” key for a great clip of the Iron Giant performing some ballet moves for you.

Once again back on the “Additional Special Features” menu, select the entry for “Additional Scenes.” On the next screen press the “Right” arrow key on your remote control twice until one of the kids’ collars is highlighted. Press the “enter” key now to see an animated sketch of a character doing some Michael Jackson-like dance moves.
