More Hanna-Barbera on the way

The Hanna-Barbera Classic Collection series, in addition to having some of the nicest packaging around is turning out to be quite an extensive collection as well. Two new sets are coming in the winter; Top Cat: The Complete Series and The Flintsones: The Complete First Season.

Top Cat: The Complete Series will be available in a four-disc collector set, featuring over nine hours of content with 90 minutes of DVD bonus features. The Flintstones: The Complete Second Season will also be available in a four-disc collector set and contains the original 32 episodes from the series’ second season and delivers over 800 minutes of original TV programming and enhanced content.

The Top Cat set includes commentaries on three episodes by several experts in the animation field including: Animation historian, Jerry Beck, writer/animation historians Earl Kress and Mark Evanier as well as Leo de Lyon, who voiced the show’s Spook and The Brain characters, a storyboard showcase, a retrospective featurette entitled “Hoagy’s Alley: The Making of Top Cat”, <interviews, a sing-along, art galleries and Top cak Kellogg’s commercials.

The Flinstones set contains commentary on three episodes by layout artist, Jerry Eisenberg, writer/animation historian Earl Kress and cartoonist/Hanna-Barbera historian Scott Shaw, the documentary “Carved in Stone: The Flintstones Phenomenon”, sponsor interstitials that include One-A-Day Vitamins, Welch’s Grape Juice, Kitchen Rich Cookies and Carnation Evaporated Milk, songs, how to draw Fred Flinstone, and an art gallery.

Both sets will be priced at $44.95 and will arrive on December 7th.
