Buzz on the upcoming ten disc set of the Matrix trilogy can finally be substantiated with the official specs on the set being made available by Warner Home Entertainment
The set will contain The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, Matrix Revolutions, The Animatrix, The Matrix Revisited and five discs of supplements including 71 featurettes, introductions by The Wachowski Brothers, two audio commentaries on each film – the first with Dr. Cornel West and Ken Wilber, the second with Todd McCarthy, John Powers and David Thomson, additional scenes (from the Enter the Matrix game), the documentaries “Roots of the Matrix,” “Re: Action – A Brief History of Action in Cinema,” “Return To Source – Philosophy & The Matrix” and “The Hard Problem – The Science Behind the Fiction”, still galleries, music videos, trailers, TV spots and DVD ROM content. Each film is presented in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1.
The set arrives on December 7th, just in time for Christmas and will be priced at $79.95. A limited edition set with a booklet, mini-bust of Neo, and funky futuristic packaging will also be available for $129.95.
