Despite a decent ad campaign and quite a bit of buzz, the Hong Kong film Shaolin Soccer had an extremely limited release in theatres. Miramax will finally release a legitimate region one DVD of the film this fall.

Sing, a discouraged Shaolin Monk, finds direction in his life and recruits his brothers to focus their martial arts and mystical abilities – not for the betterment of mankind, but towards the creation of a kick-ass soccer team.

The DVD will contain no extras to speak of, but will arrive on August 24th and will carry a suggested retail price of $19.99.
