New details on Star Trek Generations

It seems Paramount Home Entertainment is all about Star Trek these days. New detail s have arrive on the upcoming two-disc special edition of Star Trek Generations.

The film itself comes in anamorphic widescreen with audio in Dolby Digital 5.1 and for the first time on a Trek feature, DTS sound. Also included are an audio commentary by Brannon Braga and Ronald D. Moore and the text commentary by Michael and Denise Okuda.

Disc two has a multitude of featurettes on the Enterprise lineage, Captain Picard’s family album, 24th century weapons, a tribute to Matt Jeffries, Uniting Two Legends, Stellar Cartography: Creating the Illusion, Strange New Worlds: The Valley of Fire, ILM models and miniatures, and Crashing the Enterprise, three scene deconstructions, storyboard and production galleries, the theatrical trailers that were absent from the films original DVD release, and the one feature fans have waited patiently for ten years for; the much talked about, rarely seen deleted scenes including the alternate ending.

The current DVD of Generations is possibly the most bare-bones DVD Paramount has ever released, it’s a nice special edition finally arrive on September 7th – a day before the birthday of Trek – with a $19.95 suggested retail price.
