And Now, Here’s Lucy!

Not content with one genre defining sitcom, Lucille Ball returned to the sitcom three more times over the years. Her third show Here’s Lucy! will return to the public eye with a new DVD box set coming from The Shout! Factory.

Lucy Carter, a widow raising two teenage children, lives in Los Angeles and works as a secretary at the Carter Unique Employment Agency, owned by her grouchy brother-in-law Harrison “Uncle Harry” Carter. Lucy’s overzealous manner, both as a meddling mother and at the employment agency, often causes her to stumble into embarrassing slapstick situations, much to the chagrin of her kids, Harry and best pal Mary Jane.

Presented in a best-of format, the set will contain 24 episodes and will additionally house
14 new audio commentaries, never-before-seen bloopers and deleted scenes, rehearsal and other behind-the-scenes footage, audience warm-up footage with Ball’s second husband Gary Morton and original network promos. Bonus material also includes a clip from the “Ann-Margret: From Hollywood With Love” television special featuring Ball, the original series sales reel with Bob Hope bloopers, and never-before-seen footage from an event during which Lucie and Desi, Jr. perform as their parents in an “I Love Lucy” skit.

Priced at $34.98, the DVD set will arrive on August 17th.
