Aladdin and Mulan are coming

This October, Buena Vista Home Entertainment is releasing two-disc special editions of both Aladdin and Mulan.

Aladdin arrives as part of the Platinum Collection, which means it will be modified like crazy. A new song has been integrated into the film, some scenes have been re-animated and the soundtrack will be in the newly mixed Dolby Digital 5.1 Enhanced Home Theater Mix. The film will also be presented in family-friendly 1.66:1 anamorphic widescreen. This will be the edited home-video cut of the film with altered song lyrics from the theatrical release.

The extras will include audio commentary, a fun facts track, deleted scenes, the “The Making of Aladdin” documentary and the featturette “Aladdin Art Review”. The kid-friendly features include several games, the short “Genie’s Magical Journey”, several music videos from Radio Disney stars. Also included are theatrical trailers, still galleries and the song selection access feature.

Mulan will arrive less altered, but will also be released in family-friendly 1.66:1 anamorphic widescreen. Extras include the deleted song “Keep ‘Em Guessing”, an audio commentary, deleted scenes, an alternate ending, the featurette “Disney Pedia: Mulan’s World”, music video, trivia, presentation reels, storyboards, still galleries theatrical trailers and a multi-part documentary

Both discs will arrive for $29.95. Aladdin arrives on October 5th and Mulan follows on the 26th. Aladdin will also be released in a gift box set similar to the Lion King set which includes a book and production sketches for $79.95.
