Paramount Home Entertainment has set a date for the upcoming two disc special edition of the 1994 seventh installment in the Trek franchise, Star Trek Generations.

Retired Starfleet officers James T. Kirk, Montgomery Scott and Pavel Chekov are guests of honor aboard the newly christened Enterprise-B. A test run takes an unexpected turn, however, when the starship encounters two vessels trapped inside the Nexus, a mysterious energy ribbon. During a perilous rescue attempt, Kirk is swept out into space. Seven decades later, Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of Enterprise-D rescue an El Aurian physicist named Soran. Unbeknownst to Picard, Soran harbors a deadly plan that includes the destruction of the Enterprise and millions of lives. Now Picard’s only hope for a future rests within the Nexus… and a legendary captain from the past.

Very little is announced in terms of features. If the set follows suit from past trek sets, an audio commentary, text commentary and several featurettes are likely. Stay tuned for further details here.

Two months short of its tenth anniversary and one day short of the 38th birthday of Star Trek, Generations will arrive on September 7th, 2004.
