Black Hawk Down goes Superbit

Adding to its growing line of Superbit titles, Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment will release the Gulf War drama Black Hawk Down this year.

Based on true events in 1993, an elite group of American Rangers and Delta Force soldiers are sent to Somalia on a critical mission to capture a violent warlord whose corrupt regime has lead to the starvation of hundreds of thousands of Somalians. When the mission goes terribly wrong, the men find themselves outnumbered and literally fighting for their lives against overwhelming odds. Trapped behind enemy lines for 18 grueling hours until a rescue convoy can be mounted to retrieve them – friends are lost, alliances are formed, tensions flare, boys become men and soldiers learn the true nature of war and heroism.

Like most traditional Superbit titles, the disc will contain the film only in anamorphic widescreen with audio in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 surround. No extras will be included.

The DVD will arrive on July 15th with a suggested retail price of $26.98.
