The quest may be over, but the DVD is still yet to arrive. The theatrical version of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King will arrive as a two disc set from New Line Home Entertainment.

The disc will contain either an anamorphic widescreen or fullscreen transfer with a Dolby Digital 5.1 EX soundtrack and the featurettes A Journey Completed: A Director’s Vision, A Filmmaker’s Journey: Making The Return of the King, The National Geographic Special Feature, Aragorn’s Destiny, Minas Tirith, Battle of Pelennor Fields, Samwise the Brave, Eowyn White Lady of Rohan and Digital Horses. Original trailers and TV spots are available for the movie as well as ads for the super-pack version to come and the upcoming video game. DVD-ROM content is also included.

Many will wait until the four disc version ,or some gigantic trilogy box set comes out. But for those who can’t wait, the disc arrives on May 25th with a suggested retail price of $29.95.
