Returner comes to U.S. shores

The popular Japanese action film Returner is going to get an American audience when Colubia TriStar Home Entertainment releases the DVD this winter.

The year is 2084 and the human race is fighting an alien militia to save the last remnant
of civilization. A young heroine named Milly escapes the war and becomes “a
returner, ” jumping back in time to present-day Japan in an attempt to change history. Milly’s travels land her right into the middle of a local crime war between street-smart gunman Miyamoto and cold-blooded crime leader Mizoguchi. When Mizoguchi learns that the first earth-bound spaceship captured by the government possesses destructive abilities that would allow him to rule the world, he will stop at nothing to track this extraterrestrial creature down. With the fate of the world hanging in the balance, Milly must convince the reluctant Miyamoto to join her mission and stop the evil crime lord in time, thereby preventing future events that lead to the end of the human race.

The disc will be home to an anamorphic widescreen transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 sound in Japanese, English and Frence. Plus it will contain – and I quote – four amazing featurettes.

The disc will arrive February 10th with a SLP of $24.96.
