The Sun’ll come out on Annie

Chicago may have reintroduced us to the notion of a Broadway show gone cinema, but its been done for years, and a happy singing orphan will bring Annie back with a new DVD from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.

Annie is the unforgettable story of a plucky, red-haired girl who dreams of life outside her dreary orphanage. One day, Annie (Aileen Quinn) is chosen to stay for a week with the famous billionaire Daddy Warbucks (Albert Finney). One week turns into many and Daddy Warbucks begins to think about adopting Annie, but there’s still one person standing in the way of Annie’s happiness: Miss Hannigan (Carol Burnett), the unpredictable ruler of the orphanage.

The new DVD will be mixed in Dolby Digital 5.1 and will include several features including the featurette My Hollywood Adventure with Aileen Quinn, a new music video by the band Play, Sing-Alongs, a set top game and theatrical trailers.

Arriving on January 13th, the DVD will be priced at $19.95.
