DTS adds Warren Lieberfarb to its board of directors

DTS (Digital Theater Systems, Inc.) has appointed three new members to its Board of Directors: Joerg Agin, Joseph Fischer and Warren Lieberfarb. With decades of expertise in various facets of the entertainment and technology industries, these new members will play an integral part in the leadership and growth of the company.

“We are honored to work with these renowned industry veterans to help plot the course for DTS’ future,” said Dan Slusser, Chairman of the Board. “Each of our new members brings financial, operating and technical skills, and their experiences complement our existing Board members. Their guidance will be integral to the realization of the Company’s plans.”

Mr. Agin has been appointed as the Chairman of the Company’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, and will also serve on the Company’s Audit and Compensation Committees. Mr. Fischer has been appointed as the Chairman of the Company’s Audit Committee and will also serve on the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.

Warren Lieberfarb recently completed more than 20 years as the head of Warner Home Video, the home entertainment arm of Warner Bros. A recipient of an Emmy Award in recognition of his unique role in launching the DVD format, Mr. Lieberfarb was a driving force behind the conceptualization, development and worldwide implementation of the medium. Called “the Father of DVD” by Variety, he had the initial vision for a high-quality, convenient and affordable digital / optical media for home entertainment. He also received the first Wharton / Infosys “Technology Change Agent” Award for his support of DVD. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania, where he is a member of the Board’s Nominating and Development Committees, and on the undergraduate Executive Board of the Wharton School. He also serves on the Board of Directors and Board of Trustees of the American Film Institute, and chairs its Entrepreneurial Committee, and on the Board of Directors of Sirius Satellite Radio, Inc. Mr. Lieberfarb is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
