Although the original Transformers series still has many episodes still unreleased on DVD, Rhino has decided to release the computer animated follow-up to the series Beast Wars: Transformers to DVD this fall.

Set on prehistoric earth, Beast Wars tells the saga of two warring factions of robots. The Maximals, led by Optimus Primal, and the evil Predacons, led by Megatron continue to wage a massive battle for Cybertron, an energon-rich planet.

The first season of 26 episodes from 1996-7 will be presented on the set newly mixed in Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. Extras include all new interviews with writers Larry DiTillio & Bob Forward and a 10 page collectible booklet.

The set will arrive this month with a suggested retail price of $59.95.
