’Anger Management’ is one of the latest comedies to hit DVD, pairing up the incomparable Jack Nicholson with none other than SNL alumni Adam Sandler. The result is a hilarious movie filled with Sandler’s antic’s and Nicholson’s wacky quirks – not to mention his diabolical grin. Funny from the first to the last minute, ’Anger Management’ turns out to be a wildly entertaining film that also brings us Marisa Tomei, John Turturro, Luis Guzman and Woody Harrelson in smaller roles, as Dave Buznik (Adam Sandler) a seemingly shy young man, is thrown into the most bizarre pool of events when the world seems to go nuts around him and he is ordered by the court to undergo anger management. But you better see that for yourself…

Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment is presenting the movie in a 2.40:1 aspect ratio in an anamorphic widescreen transfer. The transfer is absolutely clean and clear without even a hint of defects. Colors are natural and strong without oversaturation. There are a few occasions where some slight edge-enhancement was visible but for the most part, the transfer is exemplary with a very high level of definition and no compression artifacts.

The DVD contains 5.1 channel Dolby Digital tracks in English and French. Given the new production date, it is hardly surprising that the tracks are very active and feature stellar dynamics. The frequency response is wide, creating a natural sound field, with deep basses and clear high ends.

A commentary track featuring Sandler and director Peter Segal is included on the disc, offering some additional insight into the production. ’Skull Session,’ a behind-the-scenes featurette, is also included but it’s a promo featurette by nature and as such offers only marginal value or insight.

A series of deleted scenes and a gag reel are also included, as well as a short game and bonus trailers for other Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment DVDs.

I found ’Anger Management’ to be truly funny and highly entertaining. There are so many devious moments in the film and so many hilarious characters that you will roll on the floor laughing…. I did.
