Monty Python gets a slight upgrade

When the blokes of Monty Python announced the extended cut of their popular 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the publicity and anticipation swelled only to reveal a joke on us; a longer version of the film by adding a grand total of twenty-four seconds. Now it seems that history is repeating itself. Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment will be releasing a new Special Collector’s Edition of the film. The difference between this release and the existing release is however, negligible.

The well known film is a hilarious send-up of the Middle Ages as told through the story of King Arthur and framed by a modern-day murder investigation. When the mythical king of the Britons leads his knights on a quest for the Holy Grail, they face a wide array of horrors, including a persistent Black Knight, a three-headed giant, a cadre of shrubbery-challenged knights, the perilous Castle Anthrax, a killer rabbit, a house of virgins, and a handful of rude Frenchmen.

The listed features are identical to the features on the existing special edition of the disc which can be found here. The only additions will be the inclusion of a film senitype and a paperback version of the script.

This new package will arrive on September 16th and will carry a suggested retail price of one shrubbery or $49.95.
