Two from Columbia TriStar

Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment is setting up some darker fare for summer, the thriller Die! Die! My Darling! and the black comedy He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not.

“Die! Die! My Darling!” Is the story of Mrs. Trefoile, a demented mother who, terrorizes and imprisons her dead son’s fiancée Pat to avenge her son’s tragic death, with the help of her bumbling gardener. A domineering religious fanatic, Mrs. Trefoile grows obsessed with the spirit of her son, who died several years earlier in an auto wreck. When her son’s former lover pays an unexpected visit, Mrs. Trefoile kidnaps the beautiful young woman, holding her hostage in the basement to “cleanse” her soul, so she can be reunited with her son in heaven. Trapped and tortured, Pat must fight for her life to escape.

In “He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not”, rising young artist Angelique lives in a candy-colored fantasy world. From the moment she flashes her smile and persuades a flower shop owner to deliver a surprise single rose to her lover Loic, the world has – again – fallen under her spell. In the glorious throes of true love, Angelique is happily planning her future: a career as a painter and a future with Loic … what more could she desire? But things are rarely as they seem and Loic, a married cardiologist, has a slightly more jaded take on their affair.

Both titles will be in anamorphic widescreen and will contain their original soundtracks, English for “Darling” and French Dolby Digital 5.1 for “He Loves Me”. Sadly neither title will have any supplemental goodies.

Both arriving on August 12th, the prices for “Die! Die! My Darling!” and “He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not” will be $24.95 and $29.95 respectively.
