Columbia TriStar finds Identity

The recent thriller Identity reminded us all that a good scare is still good for the box office. Columbia TriStar has prepared a special edition of the DVD for release in September.

Trapped by a violent rainstorm, ten travelers are forced to seek refuge at a strange desert motel. They soon realize they’ve found anything but shelter. There is a killer among them and, one by one, they are brutally murdered. As the storm rages on and the corpses pile up, the survivors begin to turn on one another, and as accusations fly, one thing becomes clear: Each of them was mysteriously drawn to the motel, not by accident or circumstance, but by forces beyond imagination. So they must fight to uncover the identity of the killer, before they check out … permanently!

The DVD will contain both anamorphic widescreen and fullscreen versions of the film, but only the widescreen version will feature an optional extended version with an alternate ending and an extra scene. The sound mix will be in Dolby Digital 5.1 and a director commentary will be available on a separate track. Other extras include the special “On the Set of Identity” from the Starz channel, storyboard comparisons, filmographies and a theatrical trailer.

With a suggested list price of $27.94, the DVD will arrive on September 2nd.
