A&E is Lost in La Mancha

Terry Gilliam films have always been wrought with tribulations, from the endless editing of “Brazil” to the production halting of “12 Monkeys”, but Gilliam always seemed to pull through. His luck ended though with the doomed project, “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote”. The amazing documentary Lost in La Mancha follows the rise and fall of the film and will be coming to DVD from A&E Home Video this summer.

A tantalizing documentary as hilarious as it is tragic – this film tracks maverick filmmaker Terry Gilliam’s madcap mission to film “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote”. With an all-star cast featuring Johnny Depp, Gilliam struggles to complete his masterpiece, all the while beset by obstacles of such proportions taht not even Hollywood could have concocted them. Narrated by Jeff Bridges.

The two disc set will contain interviews with the cast and crew, several deleted scenes, video soundbites (which is an oxymoron if I ever heard one), storyboards and production stills from the unfinished film, Terry Gilliam interviews with Salman Rushdie and Elvis Mitchell, behind-the-scenes featurettes, biographies and original theatrical trailers.

Arriving on June 24th, the DVD will have a suggested retail price of $29.95.
