The history of Dune is written on the sands of DVD

Artisan Home Entertainment is already prepared to release this past weekend’s three part Sci-Fi channel miniseries Frank Herbert’s Children of Dune.

Twelve years have past since the rising of the Muad’dib to the emperorship. But the former Paul Atreides finds himself trapped by his own prophesies. When house Corrino threatens the flow of spice, Muad’dib realizes he cannot follow the golden path, and must leave that destiny to his son.

The movie will be presented in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1. No word yet on if the film will be the version seen on American television or some form of longer cut as was the case with the 2000 miniseries Dune.

On May 20th, the next chapter of Dune comes to DVD with a suggested retail price of $26.95.
