One of the pillars of the animated Disney franchise, the family favorite Sleeping Beauty will finally premiere on DVD this fall thanks to Buena Vista Home Entertainment.

Although not a Platinum Edition (or Gold Edition for that matter), the two disc set comes with a wealth of extras. The video will be presented in anamorphic widescreen with a newly mixed Dolby Digital 5.1 track. The extras should please both film enthusiasts and families with the documentary “Once Upon A Dream: The Making Of Sleeping Beauty”, several design oriented featurettes, the “Sleeping Beauty 3-D Virtual Galleries”, story reels, the “Helene Stanley Dance Reference” footage, additional featurettes on “The Music” and “The Restoration”, a “Widescreen-to-Fullscreen Comparison”, the TV show excerpt “The Peter Tchaikovsky Story”, a “Grand Canyon” short film, the “Four Artists Paint One Tree” special hosted by Walt Disney, two interactive games “Rescue Aurora Set-Top Adventure” and “Sleeping Beauty Ink And Paint” and theatrical trailers.

The suggested retail on the set is $29.95. The princess will awake on September 9th of this year.
