Jack Nicholson continues to play at the top of his game in the extra dark comedy About Schmidt. New Line Home Entertainment is about to let him loose on DVD this spring.

Warren Schmidt is forced to deal with an ambiguous future as he enters retirement. Soon after, his wife passes away and he must come to terms with his daughter’s marriage to a man he does not care for and the failure that his life has become.

The new DVD will be available in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 surround sound and some nice extras including deleted scenes, an alternate opening and esoterically titled featurette “Perceptions of the Film from the Editorial Staff”. A trailer is also included.

Arriving on June 6th, the title will carry a suggested retail price of $27.95.
