New features are in stock at Empire Records

The often talked about Empire Records: Bootleg Cut is starting to take shape. The set is due for release from Warner Brothers Home Entertainment in June.

It all takes place one eventful day in the lives of the young slackers, doers and dreamers who work at a bustling store called Empire Records. “This music is the glue of the world,” one of Empires’ clerks says. “It holds it al together.” Gin Blossoms, the Cranberries, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Cracker, Evan Dando, Better Than Ezra and more hot alternative rock underscores virtually every scene.

The new cut of the film will contain an extra sixteen minutes of restored footage reinserted into the film which will arrive in anamorphic widescreen with a Dolby Digital 5.1 surround track. Four extra deleted scenes, music videos and a theatrical trailer will round out the extras.

Priced at $24.98, the special edition will arrive on June 3rd.
