Patlabor WXIII lands on DVD

Marking the 15th anniversary of the cult favorite franchise, Mobile Police Patlabor, Pioneer Entertainment debuts Patlabor WXIII on a three-disc Special Edition DVD this April.

Inspired by the original Godzilla movie from Japan, “Patlabor WXIII” is an action-packed, cautionary tale about the dangers of scientific advancement unchecked by morality. It was hailed by the New York Times as “a visually absorbing futuristic fantasy that evokes a paranoid world choking on its own technology. ”

Spread over three discs this special edition starts with the film itself on disc one shown in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks in both English and Japanese with removable subtitles. Disc two contains animated parody short films, screenplays and character designs. Disc three carries three documentaries, the original pitch film, a textless opening with a sing-along feature, a layout gallery, TV commercials and a Dolby Digital 5.1 sound gallery.

Available April 8th, the set will bear a $29.98 suggested retail price.
