The director’s cut of The Oscar Winning Best Picture Dances With Wolves has been very well received on Laserdisc over the years, and now finally finds its way to DVD thanks to the folks at MGM Home Entertainment.

The longer cut of the film will be spread over two discs in anamorphic widescreen with audio in Dolby Digital 5.1. An audio commentary with Kevin Costner and editor Steve Potter will also run with the film. Other extras include the new documentary “Creation of an Epic” a making of featurette, the music video, a photo and poster gallery, theatrical trailers and TV spots. The features will appear on a third disc.

Arriving on May 20th, the film will carry a suggested retail price $29.95.
