Many new titles from Columbia TriStar

A large number of new and catalog titles has been announced for DVD release in the coming months from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.

Starting on February 18th will be the Frank Capra, Jimmy Stewart comedy You Cant’ Take it With You presented in its original fullscreen with no features to speak of. Also on the same date comes I’ll Do Anything the Tracey Ullman comedy presented in both fullscreen and widescreen.

Next on the 25th of February comes the Bill Cosby film debut, the post civil war adventure Man and Boy, the Gene Rowlands drama Gloria and the black and white comedy Talk of the Town. Also for the first time on any form of home video is the Cary Grant fantasy that spawned a series of successful Looney Tunes Once Upon a Time. All of the discs will come presenting the film in their original aspect ratio and will feature no supplemental materials.

The week of March 4th will see the release of four titles. The Steven Seagal action romp Half Past Dead which will feature anamorphic widescreen and fullscreen presentations with audio in Dolby Digital 5.1. The disc will feature an audio commentary, deleted scenes, trailers and the Cinemax special “The Making of Half Past Dead”. The true story of actor Jia Hongsheng is shown in the drama Quitting presented in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1 (Mandarin) from Sony Classic Pictures. Also the 1966 and 1972 films Born Free and Living Free based on the popular novel. Both are presented in fullscreen. Born Free will also contain an anamorphic widescreen transfer.
Auto Focus is presented in both anamorphic widescreen and fullscreen with audio in Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Surround 2.0. Two audio commentaries, the documentary “Murder In Scottsdale”, a making of featurette, deleted scenes and trailers will be included.
