An Evening With Kevin Smith

Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment’s release of “An Evening With Kevin Smith” contains a series of Easter Eggs with even more excerpts from Keni’s college appearances.

Insert the first disc of the set and on the Main Menu highlight the “Subtitles” menu entry and then press the “Right” arrow key on your remote control. This will highlight the flowers on the chalkboard and give you access to some footage if you press “Enter.”

Now go to the “Language” section that is accessible from the DVD’s Main Menu and highlight the menu entry that reads “Main Menu.” Now press the “Left” arrow key on your remote control twice until the circle on the chalkboard is highlighted. Press “Enter” now to see some more footage.

Remain on the “Languages” submenu and highlight the menu entry for “English” and then press the “Left” arrow key twice. This will highlight the Tic-Tac-Toe board and give you access to another clip if you press “Enter.”

Go back to the Main Menu and then select the “Scene Selections.” On the first page of that submenu press the “Down” arrow key on your remote control until Kevin’s sneaker is highlighted. Now press “Enter” and you will get to see yet another clip.

Once it is over, remain in the “Scene Selections” but this time, go to the next page of chapter stops. Once there, press the “Down” arrow key twice and a piece of chalk will appear highlighted. Now press the “Enter” key to see another clip of Kevin on campus.

Now it’s time to insert the second disc of the set. Once the Main Menu comes up highlight the menu entry that reads “Play Movie” and then press the “Up” arrow key on your remote control to highlight the Smiley face on the chalkboard. Press “Enter” to watch the clip in which Kevin explains why he cast Alanis Morissette to play God in “Dogma.”

Now select the “Subtitles” menu entry from the Main Menu. In the following submenu highlight the menu entry that reads “English” and then press the “Right” arrow key on your remote control twice until the heart on the chalkboard is highlighted. Press “Enter” to see the clip associated with this hidden feature.

Now go back to the disc’s Main Menu and select the “Scene Selections” menu entry. Once you get there, press the “Down” arrow key on your remote control twice to highlight Kevin’s sneaker. Press “enter” to hear his thoughts on the question “Where are you going?”

The last Easter Egg is hidden on the Trailers page. Once you get there, highlight the “Spider-Man” menu entry and press the “Right” arrow key to highlight the E=mc2 writing on the chalkboard. Now press “Enter” to reveal this footage.
