After spell of comedic roles, Robert De Niro returns to what he does best in the drama City by the Sea. Coming in February is a new DVD of the film from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.

Plagued by the execution of his convicted murderer father, veteran homicide detective Vince LaMarca has spent most of his life trying to forget Long Beach, Long Island. In an ironic twist of fate, a homicide leads Vince back to the “city by the sea” where his estranged son becomes the prime murder suspect. In a tension-filled race with the highest of stakes, LaMarca is forced to put his life on the line in order to find his son before revenge-seeking cops do.

Available in both anamorphic widescreen and fullscreen versions, the DVD special features include Six Words about Filmmaking with Michael Caton-Jones, a featurette made exclusively for the DVD, which takes an in-depth look at the various stages of the film’s production as experienced by the director. Other DVD extras include an audio commentary by screenwriter Ken Hixon and producer Matthew Baer as well as the theatrical trailer

The DVD will arrive February 18th and carry a suggested retail price of $27.95.
