Columbia TriStar perfects Formula 51

Feeling that the original British title “The 51st State” would be too confusing for American audiences, Columbia TriStar released the high action flick Formula 51 to mixed reviews this summer. Now the film will make its way to the DVD shelves for a second run at glory.

This is the story of Elmo McElroy, a streetwise American master chemist, who heads to England to set up his last big deal – to introduce a new designer drug to the European market. McElroy soon becomes embroiled in a web of double-dealing as he’s escorted around Liverpool’s underworld and rave scene by rabid local hood Felix who hates all things American.

The DVD will boast both a fullscreen and anamorphic widescreen transfers of the film with audio in Dolby Digital 5.1. The Cinemax Special: The Making of Formula 51 and a theatrical trailer will also be included.

When the 2nd of February rolls around, Formula 51 will make its debut.
