X-Men gets re-released with extra goodies

Although director Brian Singer’s original intent was to revisit his action hero film X-Men as a longer edition, he instead settled on the upcoming feature-laden disc X-Men Collector’s Edition coming from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Of course the new version of the film will be presented in anamorphic widescreen and the audio will be available in Dolby Digital 5.1 or DTS 5.1 flavors. The first disc in the set will also have room for an audio commentary with Singer and twenty four deleted scenes originally planned for reinsertion into the film. The second disc contains the documentary “The Making Of X-Men” broken up unto four parts: “Part 1 (Origin Of The X-Men)”, “Part 2 (The Uncanny Suspects)”, “Part 3 (X-Factor)”, “Part 4 (Shooting X-Men)” and “Part 5 (Remembering The X-Men)”. Trailers, TV spots, Internet ads, and some behind the scenes on “X-Men 2” are also included.

With a suggested retail price of $26.95, the set won’t arrive until February 11th.
