Warner plays with Fingers

An early role for Harvey Keitel, and a first effort from director James Toback, Fingers took gangster films in new directions. Now Warner Brothers Home Entertainment is preparing a new DVD release for this fall.

Jimmy Fingers is a young man grappling with the harsh discrepancy between his dreams of becoming a classical pianist at Carnegie Hall and the brutal reality of his job as collector for his mob-connected loan-shark father. Trying desperately to keep the two distinct worlds separate, Fingers is consumed by the emotional inner-turmoil of trying to reconcile his artistic commitment with his family obligations.

The DVD features a new anamorphic widescreen transfer and will include an audio commentary by writer/director James Toback, a personal conversation featurette on independent film with Harvey Keitel and James Toback and the original theatrical trailer.

Coming soon, the DVD will be released on November 5th and will have a suggested retail price of $19.98.
