Neil Young goes digital
Neil Young fans will enjoy the news that the 1979 concert film Rust Never Sleeps is on the way from Sanctuary this month.
This concert was filmed on October 22, 1978, at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, CA. In 1997, Rolling Stone named this concert as one of the Top 10 Live Shows in the history of rock “n” roll. The timeless album “Rust Never Sleeps” is often hailed by critics as one of the greatest ever made. The songs Young performed included a blend of solo acoustic numbers and ferocious electric rave-ups with Crazy Horse guitarist Frank “Poncho” Sampedro, bass guitarist Billy Talbot and drummer Ralph Molina. The “Rust Never Sleeps” set list comprised songs from the album as well as many of Young’s greatest hits.
Presented in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 the DVD will also contain the original theatrical trailer and previously unpublished tour photos.
The new release of this long lost concert arrives very soon on the 24th of September.
