MGM brings on The Producers

A long time entry on the most requested list is the original Mel Brooks film The Producers that not only inspired the current Broadway hit, but was quite the smash during its original 1968 release. MGM Home Entertainment is finally prepared to release the film on DVD.

Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom devise the perfect scam, raise way too much money for a musical that’s sure to flop. That way no one will expect their money back. But despite their best (or worst) efforts, “Springtime for Hitler” is a success. A huge success.

A brand new anamorphic widescreen transfer will shine on this new disc as will audio in both Dolby Digita; 5.1 and the films original mono. a documentary on the films history is included as are deleted scenes and the standard photo gallery and theatrical trailer.

Bravo to MGM for releasing this important entry into the American cinema. The disc will arrive on December 3rd and will retail for $24.95.
