Columbia TriStar visits the Sunshine State

Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment is readying a new DVD of the well received, but little heard of comedy Sunshine State.

Set in Plantation Island Florida, Sunshine State unfolds during the weeklong Buccaneer Days Festival, a new “tradition” created by the local Chamber of Commerce. But local real estate developers are changing the modest beachside community into an upscale, manicured resort for winter-weary Northerners. The long-time locals are divided on whether to cash in or stand their ground. Plantation Island, like its residents, is in transition.

Although the film has been well received, very few supplements were ever created. The new DVD will contain the film in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.0 with a director’s audio commentary, but with no other supplements.

The DVD will arrive on November 19th with a suggested retail price of $24.95.
