Windtalkers on the way from MGM

The choice of director John Woo seemed an unlikely one for the recent war drama Windtalkers, and fans did not seem to appreciate the pairing if box office returns are any indication. But the loosely historical film will be coming to DVD from MGM Home Entertainment this fall as an extremely barebones release.

Joe Enders and “Ox” Anderson are two very different marines, the former a by the books experienced officer, the latter a green and reckless rookie. But they both share a common mission; to protect the Navajo code talkers who could hold the key to Allied victory.

The DVD will refreshingly house both an anamorphic widescreen and fullscreen version of the film with audio in Dolby Digital 5.1. But outside of a theatrical trailer, the disc will contain absolutely no features.

Arriving on October 28th, the DVD will be priced at $26.98.
