Paramount delivers The Sum of all Fears

Paramount Home Entertainment is getting ready to release the next installment of the Jack Ryan story on DVD this fall. The Sum of All Fears did not do quite as well at the box office as expected, but it did well enough to warrant a pretty impressive DVD.

Set years before “Patriot Games”, terrorists plan a nuclear attack on U.S. soil, but when the government assumes the Russians are behind the sudden attack, its up to a young Jack Ryan to expose the truth behind the attack.

Being the first Clancy film to come out after DVD has gained momentum, this newest installment will not suffer from the poor quality and lack of features of its predecessors. Presented in anamorphic widescreen and with audio in Dolby Digital 5.1, the disc will contain a two audio commentaries both featuring director Phil Alden Robinson, the first with cinematographer John Lindley, and the second with novelist Tom Clancy. A standard “Making-Of The Sum Of All Fears” featurette and a second featurette entitled “Creating Reality: the Visual Effects of The Sum Of All Fears” will be included along with a theatrical trailer.

Priced at $29.95, the action hits shelves on October 29th.
