DreamWorks shows us Spirit

DreamWorks SKG Home Entertainment is preparing a fairly packed DVD for the quasi-traditionally animated Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron for release this autumn.

Spirit travels the western plains, befriending horses and even a human. When love finds Spirit, he must learn to rethink his life. Unlike traditional animated films, the animal characters not only refrain from singing, but from speaking as well, giving the film a slightly more adult-friendly feel.

Following the successful formula that made “Shrek” a top selling DVD, “Spirit” will feature the film in both anamorphic widescreen and fullscreen both with audio available in Dolby Digital 5.1. An audio commentary will accompany the film with voices on loan from Kelly Asbury, Lorna Cook and Mireille Soria. A production featurette and trailers for the film will round out the set top features on the disc. A large amount of DVD-ROM features includes the games “Horse Sense,” “Frontier Find” and “Nickname Maker,”. The interactive “Spirit’s Make-A-Movie Studio” acts as a mini editing studio. Extra tidbits include a growth chart, calendar, and a computer-based coloring book.

Making its way to DVD on November 19th, the DVD will have a minimum advertised price of $19.95.
