Swingers gets upgraded by Miramax

Miramax Home Entertainment has a reputation for holding the rights to some of the sharpest films in the last decade. The recent upspring of special editions from the company has brought a wealth of material to the film lover. Now the latest film to get the special edition treatment is the hip comedy Swingers.

When the lovesick Mike can’t seem to shake a relationship rut, his smooth, fast-talking buddy Trent decides he’ll do whatever it takes to show Mike a good time! Whether laughing over martinis in smoky cocktail lounges … or searching for beautiful babes on an outrageous road trip to Vegas, these young swingers are determined to rewrite the rules of dating in the ’90s.

An anamorphic widescreen transfer will grace the new DVD as will an audio commentary by director Doug Liman and an illustrated action commentary with actors Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn. Several featurettes will be included; “Making it in Hollywood”, “Writing the Story”, “Getting Swingers Made”, “Swingers Culture” and “Life After Swingers”. The features are rounded out by deleted scenes, outtakes, trailers and the bonus short Swing Blade, created by Small Shots parody-masters Chris Cox and Matt Sloan.

Arriving on September 24th, “Swingers” will have a $19.99 suggested retail price. The disc is available for pre-order at the DVD Review Store for just $13.99.
