Jason X comes from New Line

That’s right. The knife wielding, hockey mask wearing killer is back. New Line Home Entertainment is preparing not only a Platinum Edition of the most recent Friday the 13th entry Jason X, but a special edition of the 1993 entry Jason Goes to Hell.
“Jason Goes to Hell”, like so many of its predecessors promised to be the final chapter in which FBI agents track down Jason and learn the origin of the killer and how he became the killer we all know and love. It seems his reign of terror is over, until “Jason X”, in which scientists in the future decide to recreate Jason, (when will scientists learn?). No longer in the woods, Jason begins killing anew in his new environment.

“Goes to Hell” is given decent treatment with an anamorphic widescreen transfer and audio in Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Surround 2.0 as well as an audio commentary with director Adam Marcus. The film will be presented in both its theatrical and unrated versions. “Jason X” gets the full Platinum treatment with anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 soundtracks. Supplements include an audio commentary with director Jim Isaac, writer Todd Farmer and producer Noel Cunningham, two featurettes titled “By Any Means Necessary: The Making of Jason X” and “The Many Lives of Jason Voorhees”, theatrical trailers and DVD-ROM content. Both films will include the unique Jump to Death sequence, allowing the viewer to jump directly to their favorite offing of a character.

Arriving on October 8th in time for Halloween, “Jason Goes to Hell” and “Jason X” will be available for $19.98 and $26.98 respectively.
